Working Toward A Better Approach to Public Safety
Our partner organization and grantee, Prevention Institute, shares this guest commentary published in CalMatters. The upstream approach to community safety has been shown to work, reducing gun violence in several cities. This “better way” is gaining momentum, emphasizing a collaborative path forward that addresses systemic inequities.
At CARESTAR, we center our work on these inequities and are committed to long-lasting change in injury prevention, emergency response, and trauma care.
‘Divest from police’ and invest in policies that take a different approach to public safety
