Berkeley, California – October 27, 2019 – The CARESTAR Foundation is happy to announce that Jodi Ravel has been hired as the first Program Officer to join the CARESTAR team.
Ravel’s career in public health and philanthropy includes serving for a decade as a Program Officer for the Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Programs across Northern California. Prior to that, she held the role of Executive Director of Women Against Gun Violence in Los Angeles. She has also worked with the Institute for Health Policy Studies at UCSF and for Youth ALIVE! in Oakland. Ravel holds an MPH from UCLA and a BA from UC Berkeley. Her passion is in the areas of prevention, health equity, and community resiliency.
