Experienced leader of health service organizations including community clinics and Blue Shield of California Foundation; initiator of successful collaborative programs to advance health and safety for vulnerable Californians. Received Outstanding Non-Profit Leader of the Year award in Napa in 2016. Tanir holds a Certificate in health services management and is passionate about leadership team strengthening.

COURTNEY DAVIS
Born and raised in San Francisco, Courtney has a BA in criminal justice from San Francisco State. Though most of her work background is in the legal field, she made the shift into non-profit health care due to its mission-driven focus. “Being part of a community that improves the lives of Californians has always been a priority of mine; now I can make a difference,” she says.

Chief Financial Officer
DION GRIFFIN
Dion was a financial analyst for Morgan Stanley & Co. in NYC and London, and an accountant for Arthur Andersen & Co. before he found his calling, working with not-for-profit organizations. He specializes in administration, financial and management accounting and tax compliance as well as grantmaking. He holds a BS in business administration from UC Berkeley and is a licensed CPA.

Program Officer
JODI RAVEL, MPH
Jodi has broad experience in grant making, non-profit management, and strategic communications. She was senior manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Regional Community Benefit Programs, stewarding a $10 million portfolio focused on violence prevention, trauma-informed care and community health improvement. She has held major roles with Women Against Gun Violence in LA, UCSF, and Youth ALIVE! Jodi holds an MPH from UCLA, and a BA in psychology from UC Berkeley.

Head of Marketing & Communications
LINDA S. WENDEL
Linda is a strategic leader with extensive experience leading social responsibility and communications programs. Previously, she led the Global Citizenship team at Franklin Templeton and was instrumental in launching the firm’s first-ever diversity and inclusion program. She has held major roles with Lehman Brothers, Burberry plc, and WeberShandwick. Linda holds an MS in nonprofit management from Roehampton University and a BS in marketing from Boston College.

Grants Administrator
SEDELLA WHITE
Sedella serves as CARESTAR’s part-time Grants Administrator to help keep all aspects of our grantmaking operations working smoothly and seamlessly, including assisting grant partners with questions and troubleshooting any online application issues. She previously worked for a corporate foundation where she coordinated grantmaking and foundation relations. Sedella is a passionate advocate for foster youth and women and children’s rights. She currently resides in Arkansas with her husband and daughter.
