WHAT WE FUND
CARESTAR is committed to partnering with grantees to enable strong and meaningful work that transforms and enhances racial equity in the field of emergency and prehospital care. To that end, we award unrestricted, multi-year grants as much as possible.

Most of our grants are in support local community organizations and/or collaboratives focused on individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color and whose voices would add much-needed perspective and diversity to the decisions that shape healthcare access and experiences.
Generally speaking, we offer the following types of grants:
-
General Operating Grants – to support organizations that are in alignment with our mission, vision and priorities.
-
Project/Program Grants – to support specific work, or programs, that are in alignment with our mission, vision and priorities.
-
Specific Awards and Initiatives – these grants have specific focus areas and application processes. They are announced periodically throughout the year on our website and via social media.
