Berkeley, California – March 11, 2025 –The CARESTAR Foundation today announced $45,000 in emergency response grants to support long-term wildfire relief and recovery efforts following the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles earlier this year. The foundation has awarded three grants of $15,000 each to organizations providing critical services to communities affected by the disaster. The contributions have gone to the following organizations:
211 LA provided 24/7 emergency assistance during the fires, connecting residents with life-saving evacuation information and immediate resources like temporary housing and mental health support. Their Care Coordination Program now offers personalized, ongoing support to help individuals and families navigate recovery and rebuild stability.
Latino Community Foundation continues to provide direct cash assistance to vulnerable communities, including undocumented families, and offering rental assistance and culturally rooted mental health services to those disproportionately affected by the fires.
California Black Freedom Fund is directing resources to Black-led organizations that provide essential relief and long-term recovery support for impacted Black communities in Los Angeles County. Their initiatives focus on emergency financial assistance, mental health support, and community rebuilding efforts to aid those affected by the wildfires.

"As Los Angeles communities begin the long process of recovery, it's crucial that we support organizations with deep connections to the most vulnerable populations," said Tanir Ami, chief executive officer of the CARESTAR Foundation. "These trusted community partners will ensure that relief and recovery resources reach those who need them most."
